Our Story

Handcrafted natural stone jewelry by Zen by Meyatu

We started Zen by Meyatu with a simple belief: that the objects we carry every day can carry meaning, too. In traditional Chinese culture, natural stones have been worn for centuries not merely as decoration, but as daily companions — chosen for their specific energies, their ties to nature, and the intentions they help the wearer hold. We wanted to bring that philosophy to people living modern lives in the West.

Our name reflects that bridge. Meyatu is the spirit behind the brand — a commitment to making something that lasts longer than a trend. Every bracelet, necklace, and pendant we create is designed in the Chinese tradition and made in China, then shipped across the United States — authentic zen craft, translated into a form that fits naturally into everyday American life.

The Materials We Choose

We work exclusively with genuine natural stones — never synthetic, never imitation. Silver Obsidian has been prized in Chinese culture for thousands of years as a stone of grounding and daily protection. Cinnabar carries associations with blessing and protection that trace back centuries. Kyanite, Kunzite, Fluorite, Strawberry Quartz, Jasper — each material in our collection was selected because it carries a specific cultural resonance, not because it was cheapest or easiest to source.

Every bead is individually hand-polished by artisans who have worked with natural stone for years. Because we use genuine material, no two pieces are perfectly identical — the subtle variations in color and grain are what make each piece yours alone. We see that as a feature, not a flaw.

Our stringing uses high-elasticity natural thread designed for years of daily wear. Separator beads are 925 sterling silver. Clasps, where used, are solid stainless steel. We don't cut corners on the parts you don't see, because that's where a piece earns its longevity.

Where Our Stones Come From

We believe "made in China" should be said proudly and shown plainly. Our pieces are made to order by our partner atelier in China's crystal heartland — the region where much of the world's natural stone is cut, graded and strung, by people who have done it for generations.

The selection hall: thousands of stone lots, graded tray by tray. This is where each catalog piece begins.

When your order comes in, the stones for your piece are selected from lots like these — checked for color, grain and finish — then strung to your wrist size at the assembly benches and packed for the journey to the United States. That is the honest reason behind our 15–20 business day making time: nothing is sitting in a warehouse pre-made.

We visit our partner's floor, we know the people who string our pieces, and we publish these photos because transparency beats mystique. If you have a question about where a specific stone comes from, ask us — [email protected] — and we'll give you a straight answer.

What Each Piece Is Meant to Do

We organize our collection around intention — the energy or purpose a piece is meant to support. This isn't decoration for its own sake. A Protection bracelet is chosen by someone who wants a daily reminder to stay grounded and clear-headed. A Healing piece is for someone moving through a hard season. A Blessing bracelet is given as a gift that says: I want good things for you.

We include a cultural meaning card with every order — a printed explanation of the stone's properties and its significance in traditional Chinese zen philosophy. Our customers tell us these cards have started conversations, been kept in wallets, and occasionally moved people to tears. That reaction is exactly what we're going for.

Our Promise

Every Zen by Meyatu piece ships in our signature matte gift box, ready to give or to keep. We back every order with a 30-day full return policy — no questions, no restocking fee — and a 1-Year Craftsmanship Guarantee. If a piece breaks or shows a defect within a year of purchase, we repair or replace it at no charge. We've honored that guarantee hundreds of times, and we're proud of it.

Every piece is handcrafted to order and ships from our partner atelier in 15–20 business days, tracked door to door across the United States. We know you're trusting us with something that matters — a gift for someone you love, or something you've chosen for yourself — and we don't take that lightly.

If you have a question about sizing, a specific stone, or an order, write to us at [email protected]. We read every message ourselves and respond within one business day.

Thank you for being here. We hope you find something that resonates.
